Hosni Muburak and the Internet?

During the first presidential election in Egypt, the current president was portrayed as young, aware of what is going around him.

It was due a campaign led by his younger son Mr. Gamal Muburak. Funny enough, the people behind the campaign constructed well designed website. Moreover, they have added submit your thoughts to the president.

As I’m aware, the president now counting the days to celebrate his 80’s birthday. I really doubt that he ever touched a computer during his time as a president or even before that. Yes, they keep showing him on the glorious Egyptian TV opening many projects full of computers. But, it remind me of one Egyptian movie where the lady was looking something on her laptop, but the camera showed that she is using Microsoft XP help window.

I’m really wondering, how a country with the massive human wealth as Egypt. With nearly half or more of its population are young. Can be ruled by something like the current president and his corrupted crew.

Egypt the pivotal country in its region, stand like an old man who can’t react to very fast changing world. When a county with the sheer size of Egypt, being ruled for last 26 years by single, corrupt and isolated person like the current president. Who was raised in the army, with friends, no charisma, but also doesn’t relate to the modern world.
